What Causes Spinal Degeneration?

Degenerative disc disease is not really a disease, but a term used to describe the normal changes in your spinal discs as you age. Spinal discs are soft, compressible discs that separate the vertebrae that make up the spine. Certain conditions such as osteoarthritis, a herniated disc, and spinal stenosis, may put pressure on the spinal cord and nerves, leading to pain and possibly affecting nerve function. Whatever the cause of spinal degeneration is, Dr. Christopher Brill can diagnose it and provide the proper treatment.

As we age, spinal discs break down, or degenerate, which may result in degenerative disc disease in some people. Spinal degeneration is more likely to occur in people who smoke cigarettes and those who do heavy physical work. People who are obese are also more likely to have symptoms of degenerative disc disease. During the physical exam, Dr. Christopher Brill will ask you about your symptoms, your medical history, injuries or illnesses and habits or activities that may be causing pain in the upper and lower back. Treatment will be discussed once the exam is complete.

Chiropractic Care for Restless Legs

Restless leg syndrome (RLS) is a disorder of the part of the nervous system that causes an urge to move the legs. Because it usually interferes with sleep, it is also considered a sleep disorder. There is generally no known cause for restless leg syndrome, however, if medical treatments including muscle relaxers and physical therapy are unsuccessful, you might want to visit us at Therapeutic Solutions LLC to seek  chiropractic care.

When you visit Dr. Christopher Brill, he will perform an initial routine exam. The exam will include obtaining a general medical history or medical background pertaining to restless leg syndrome as well as other pertinent medical information. As a form of treatment, Dr. Brill should be able to relax your muscles through routine adjustments. Adjustments targeting lower back subluxations and pelvic instability may help relieve RLS discomfort and having an adjustment performed once or twice a week may help improve RLS symptoms over time.
