Asthma

Asthma is a common disease that causes chest tightness, coughing, difficulty breathing, and wheezing. It can impact a person’s quality of life, especially when they experience an asthma attack. According to the Centers for Disease Control, about 1 in 12 people have asthma, and many asthma attacks among them can be prevented.

Individuals with asthma experience their symptoms at different times, with things like the poor air quality and allergens worsening their symptoms or triggering an asthma attack. Even exercise and weather can be an asthma trigger. At Therapeutic Solutions LLC, we provide chiropractic care for treating asthma in order to help patients find some relief from their symptoms.

When a patient has chronic asthma, his or her muscles surrounding their airways are inflamed and constricted. This inflammation and narrowing of the airways causes the tell-tale asthma symptoms of chest tightness, coughing, shortness of breath, and wheezing.

But when the vertebrae is properly aligned through treatments like chiropractic adjustments and manipulations, we have found that the muscles in the bronchial that cause asthma symptoms can show improved functioning. Relaxation techniques, including acupuncture, breathing exercises, and massage can also be helpful.

Electrical Muscle Stimulation

At Therapeutic Solutions LLC, Chiropractic and Wellness Center, we believe in offering our patients options when it comes to treating pain. For example, we offer electrical muscle stimulation in order to treat muscle spasms and a variety of soft tissue injuries to the extremities and spine.

Electrical muscle stimulation works by delivering small, therapeutic doses of electrical current to the injured or painful area of the body. Although you may feel a mild tingling, most patients find electrical muscle stimulation comfortable.

When applied to the body, the electric current helps release trigger points, which can reduce muscle spasms. In addition, electrical muscle stimulation can stimulate the body’s natural pain reducing capabilities. The procedure can block pain nerve signals and also promote the release of endorphins, which help decrease discomfort. Electrical muscle stimulation can be used to treat both chronic and acute causes of pain.
Dr. Christopher Brill and our team at Therapeutic Solutions LLC, Chiropractic and Wellness Center strive to provide exceptional chiropractic care. Our goal is to help improve your health and wellbeing. We offer convenient appointment times and free consolations.

Pinched Nerve

pinched nerve is a condition (and its associated pain) that comes from extra pressure on one of the nerves of the body. A compressed nerve can occur anywhere on the body, and is commonly experienced in the back and neck.

If there is too much pressure placed on a nerve by cartilage, bones, tendons, or muscles, it can cause pain, numbness, tingling, and other types of discomfort almost anywhere in the body. Here at Therapeutic Solutions LLC, we use adjustments and manipulations to help relieve pressure from the nerve and reduce pain experienced by our patients.

There are a number of signs and symptoms that point to a pinched nerve including the following:
  • ·         Pain radiating from the neck to the back.
  • ·         Burning or sharp pains in the arms or legs.
  • ·         Pinching sensations when turning the neck.
  • ·         Sharp jolts when twisting the back.
  • ·         Shoulder blade or buttock pain.
  • ·         Distracting and debilitating pain.
  • ·         Numbness and tingling in the arms or legs.
  • ·         Pain in the face, jaw or ear.
  • ·         Headaches with no other cause.
Pinched nerves can often be confused with other types of pain, which is why a visit to see Dr. Christopher Brill in Newport News, VA is recommended. We can provide diagnosis of your pinched nerve pain and develop a proper treatment plan for you.

Inferential Electro-Therapy

Most people will develop a muscle strain or spasm at some point in their lifetime. Before you reach for medication to treat sprains, strains and muscle spasms, consider the alternatives. Interferential electro-therapy can be an effective way to treat soft tissue injuries and sprains.

Dr. Christopher Brill and our team at Therapeutic Solutions LLC, Chiropractor and Wellness Center are experienced at treating injuries with interferential electro-therapy and will be happy to answer your questions. Interferential electro-therapy works by applying a low frequency electrical signal to stimulate the muscle and reduce pain.

Interferential electro-therapy works in a few different ways. As it stimulates the muscle, it can reduce swelling and increase blood flow to the area. In addition, interferential electro-therapy can also stimulate the production and release of endorphins, which are the body’s natural pain relievers.

Therapeutic Solutions LLC, Chiropractor and Wellness Center offers a wide variety of chiropractic services including cryotherapy and electrical muscle stimulation. We are experienced in treating sports related injuries, conditions due to car accidents and job related injuries. We are happy to provide you with a free consultation.

For more information on interferential electro-therapy or any of our services, please call Therapeutic Solutions LLC, Chiropractor and Wellness Center at 757-873-4131 and visit us at www.therapeutic-solutions-llc.com.
