Inferential Electro-Therapy

Most people will develop a muscle strain or spasm at some point in their lifetime. Before you reach for medication to treat sprains, strains and muscle spasms, consider the alternatives. Interferential electro-therapy can be an effective way to treat soft tissue injuries and sprains.

Dr. Christopher Brill and our team at Therapeutic Solutions LLC, Chiropractor and Wellness Center are experienced at treating injuries with interferential electro-therapy and will be happy to answer your questions. Interferential electro-therapy works by applying a low frequency electrical signal to stimulate the muscle and reduce pain.

Interferential electro-therapy works in a few different ways. As it stimulates the muscle, it can reduce swelling and increase blood flow to the area. In addition, interferential electro-therapy can also stimulate the production and release of endorphins, which are the body’s natural pain relievers.

Therapeutic Solutions LLC, Chiropractor and Wellness Center offers a wide variety of chiropractic services including cryotherapy and electrical muscle stimulation. We are experienced in treating sports related injuries, conditions due to car accidents and job related injuries. We are happy to provide you with a free consultation.

For more information on interferential electro-therapy or any of our services, please call Therapeutic Solutions LLC, Chiropractor and Wellness Center at 757-873-4131 and visit us at www.therapeutic-solutions-llc.com.

Bursitis

Many of our patients visit our chiropractic office here in Newport News because of pain in their shoulder or elbows. This is often the result of a condition called bursitis, which occurs when the pads cushioning the bones and tendons, called bursae, become inflamed.

Bursitis happens most often in the shoulders, hip and elbow, but it can also affect other parts of the body, like the heel or knee. While bursitis can go away on its own, Dr. Christopher Brill recommends patients visit him to get quicker treatment and relief.

The main symptom for bursitis is pain in the affected area, though loss of motion and frozen shoulder also occurs. Treatments provided here at Therapeutic Solutions LLC for bursitis are varied and based on our patient’s comfort level and how severe their pain is.

Treatments for bursitis include adjustments and manipulations, therapeutic massage, physical therapy, and corticosteroid injections for reducing inflammation. We also offer recommendations for proper diet and regular exercise. Surgery is usually only needed in severe cases where the bursae needs to be drained.
If you suspect that you or a loved one has bursitis and you are interested inscheduling an appointment, please call Therapeutic Solutions LLC, Chiropractic and Wellness Center at 757-873-4131 or feel free to visit us on our website atwww.therapeutic-solutions-llc.com.

Workers Compensation

Workers compensation issues are very common. According to the Occupation Health and Safety Administration, close to four million people are injured on the job each year. Injuries on the job can range from minor to severe and may not only affect your ability to work, but also your overall quality of life.

At Therapeutic Solutions LLC, Chiropractic and Wellness Center, we are experienced at working with patients who have workers compensation issues. Injuries on the job can vary greatly, but common injuries often involve the back and neck. Whether you have already tried convention treatment or not, chiropractic care can be an excellent alternative in order to treat your condition.

We believe in treating the underlying condition, not just masking symptoms temporarily. Chiropractic care can treat the cause of your condition and help your body heal itself. In addition, chiropractic care can treat injuries without the use of pain medication, which can have many unwanted side effects.

Getting injured on the job can be difficult to deal with and leave you feeling overwhelmed. If you have had an injury at work, consider getting an initial chiropractic evaluation to determine available options.

For more information on treating injuries on the job or in order to schedule an appointment, please call Therapeutic Solutions LLC, Chiropractic and Wellness Center at 757-873-4131 or you can feel free to visit us on our website at www.therapeutic-solutions-llc.com.

Cryotherapy

If you have ever suffered from muscle spasms, you know how uncomfortable they can be. While medications may sometimes relieve pain, they may have unwanted side effects. At Therapeutic Solutions LLC, Chiropractic and Wellness Center, we are happy to offer our patients cryotherapy.

Cryotherapy works by applying cold compresses to the skin. Cryotherapy can be used to treat muscle spasms. In addition, it can also be an effective treatment for sprains, strains and soft tissue injuries. Several things happen in the body with the application of cold compresses or ice. The blood vessels constrict, and the skin temperature drops. Painful areas are also numbed. Cryotherapy can also help reduce swelling and inflammation, which in turn promotes healing.

A few benefits to using cryotherapy to reduce muscle spasms and pain include:

Cost: Cryotherapy is inexpensive, especially compared to other types of treatment for pain, such as medication and injections.

Few if any side effects: The skin can become red from the cold, but cryotherapy usually has very low rates of side effects.

Convenient: Cryotherapy can also be used at home to reduce discomfort and muscle spasms.

At Therapeutic Solutions LLC, Chiropractic and Wellness Center, we believe in providing chiropractic care and services, which can improve your health and overall wellbeing. We specialize in treating a variety of problems including back and neck pain, headaches, disc problems and other causes of chronic pain.

For more information on cryotherapy or any of our other services, please call Therapeutic Solutions LLC at 757-873-4131 or visit us on our website at www.therapeutic-solutions-llc.com.

Hip Pain

Hip pain is a common condition that is experienced by our patients, though there are many different areas of the hip that are causing the pain. Some causes of hip pain we see include arthritis, bursitis, fractures of the hip, tendon strain and muscle strain. Dr. Christopher Brill here at Therapeutic Solutions, LLC provides chiropractic care to help relieve the pain and prevent further damage to the hip joint. In many situations, the hip pain is a result of the body being out of alignment.

The symptoms of hip pain not only include pain and stiffness in the hip, but also in the following areas of the body:

  • Thigh

  • Groin

  • Buttocks

  • Inside the hip joint

  • Outside the hip joint

Chiropractic care helps our patients with hip pain through adjustments and manipulations, massage and preventative care. We locate the cause of the pain and use that to determine the best available treatment. We assess each case individually and work to prevent further pain episodes as much as possible. If you are experiencing hip pain and looking for a solution, call our Newport News office at 757-873-4131 for a free consultation or send us an email at drbrill.therapeuticsolutions@yahoo.com.

Migraines

For many, migraines feel worse than a severe headache. As our patients know, migraines cause debilitating pain, usually in the form of a pulsating or throbbing sensation on one side or both sides of the head. Many sufferers also deal with sensitivity to light and sound, nausea and vomiting.

Patients may experience an aura shortly before the migraine as a warning sign, which includes flashes of light and tingling in the arms or legs, but not always.

Aside from taking medications for migraines, there aren’t many ways to prevent them. However, here at Therapeutic Solutions, LLC, we provide chiropractic care that helps patients reduce the frequency and severity of their migraines. Some of our patients even report they hardly get them at all when they get regular treatments from Dr. Christopher Brill.

Chiropractic treatments that are effective at relieving migraines and preventing them include massage therapy, biofeedback and adjustments, which help balance the nervous system and provide overall health, which offers a lower frequency of migraines.
